The budget deadline for the State of California has passed. With the state having access to more income than previously thought, will further cuts nevertheless be made?

And south of the border, a movement of tens of thousands in Mexico, are taking to the streets to protest the violence and corruption in President Calderonâs US backed war on drugs that have left at least 35,000 people dead.
